Hi, what are you looking for?

Q&A with Perry’s Andrew Kukuk Presented by Stillwater Medical Perry

VYPE: Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they impact you as a player?

Andrew KukukI would have to say my favorite coach is Coach Travis Cole. This will be my fourth year with him, and I love every moment of it.

VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?

AK: A teammate I admire is Treg Bowman. He has had a huge impact on my game, and even though this is my last year I’ll get to play with him, I will still always look up to him as a player and a person.

VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?

AK: My favorite teacher has been Coach Kyle Bengs. I feel like he has taught me a lot about being a mature adult, and life after school and sports.

VYPE: What preparation have you taken this off-season to better equip yourself for the upcoming season?

AK: This off-season, I’ve been in the weight room a lot lifting, and working on small details of my game. I have also attended a few team and college camps over the summer.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

AK: Sports have taught me that nothing is ever given. It doesn’t matter how hard you work, or how athletic you are, there will always be times where you don’t succeed. You just need to learn from what you did wrong and make yourself better.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?

AK:My favorite sports memory was starting in my first ever varsity game and scoring my first varsity touchdown in that same game.

VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season (individual or team goals)?

AK:This season my goal is obviously to make it to the state championship, but individually I just want to see growth from last year. I want to see that I have gotten better over the offseason and continue getting better the next few years.

VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?

AK: This season I’m looking forward to playing OCS. Last year, we were very close to upsetting them, and I think that this year we can beat them.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

AK:As of right now, I want to be able to play football at any college level. I love the game, and I want to be able to continue being involved with it after high school.
