Stillwater High School

Agriculture is the lifeblood on our nation. From farming to ranching, those who dedicate their lives to providing for the rest of us deserve our respect and gratitude. Some students grow up with Ag as a part of life, which is the case for Stillwater High School’s Caeli Schaefer. Schaefer is a member of FFA, following in her father’s footsteps.

“I first officially became involved in FFA when I was in eighth grade, but I say I have been involved my whole life. My dad was an Ag teacher when I was growing up so I got to experience FFA even before my first real ag class. I always knew I wanted to be involved in FFA, but he definitely encouraged me every step of the way,” said Schaefer.

Having spent her entire life in ag, Schaefer knew exactly what she wanted to do as a member of the Stillwater chapter.

“One thing I enjoy most about being in FFA is being able to show the livestock that we raised. I have shown sheep and cattle and competed in the agriscience fair. Currently I am on the vet science team,” said Schaefer.

Schaefer is currently showing five lambs, which started in the fall and will end this spring. At school, Schaefer is a member of National Honor Society, SMAC, and is a member of the track and volleyball teams.

“In track I throw the discus. One thing I love most about my teammates is they always make me look forward to coming to track. I know that when I see them, they will always put a smile on my face,” said Schaefer.

Before leaving high school for college at Seminole State where Schaefer will play on the volleyball team, the senior offers this advice to anyone interested in FFA. “The advice I would give a younger member joining FFA would be to go out and try new things. You’re never going to know if you like or don’t like something if you don’t try it,” said Schaefer.
