Yale athlete Teagan Minney gave an interview to VYPE.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My personal goals are to push myself to work hard and get better.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
My favorite memory is hitting my first home run last year.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Sammy Reece has been the teammate that impacted me the most, he’s always been a role model and I could always look up to him.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
Definitely the teamwork and how we trust one another and we will always have each others backs no matter what.
VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?
I try to help whenever I can. I just recently helped build the new baseball batting cages.
VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?
I am involved with FCA because I have always been a Christian for as long as I can remember and being able to participate with my classmates and teammates is one of the best feelings ever.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
You can’t play a sport with just one person, you need teammates. Just like you can’t get through life alone you need someone who you can count on.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
I think it was my coach that said it but when I was walking up to the plate I heard “if you hit it over you won’t have to run around the bases as fast!” So that’s exactly what I did and it did feel nice to jog around those bases.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Coach baker will always inspire me to be better and keep up the effort winning or losing.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
I’d like to shout out all of my teammates and especially coach baker thank y’all for making my high school seasons the best and to remember forever.
