OFFENSE
The 2020 season was a good one for the Buccaneers. They ended with a solid 9-3 record, while also making it to the third round of the playoffs, where they would fall to the eventual state champion. As they enter this season, they return a majority of their starters from a year ago and are ready to make a deep run in the playoffs. Playing quarterback will be Ryan Morgan (6-0, So.). While he is young, he has a great set of skills and will be an asset to the team’s success. The offensive line will work hard to protect Morgan. Dante Mendoza (6-3, 255, Sr.), Miccael Brown (6-1, 280, Sr.), and Brendon Ochoa (6-0, 175, Sr.) bring a plethora of experience and will be a problem for opposing defenses. Morgan will have some weapons at his disposal, including tight end Noah Campbell (6-1, 167, Sr.) and wide receiver Jake Randall (5-9, 130, Sr.). Both have put in a lot of hard work in the offseason and are ready to be playmakers for the Buccaneers.
DEFENSE
While the trio of Ochoa, Mendoza, and Brown are assets to the offensive line, they are also key players to the defense. Joining them will be defensive end Jake Morgan (6-0, 146, Sr.).
This group will maintain things at the line and work hard to keep the opposing offense at bay. Jaiden Guzman (5-8, 195, Jr.) is going to join Campbell at the linebacker position. Both have worked hard and are ready to wreak havoc on their opponents. Kirtley’s assistant coaches this season will be Kurt Kirtley, Stony Fath, Kale Dice, Gage Martin. The Buccaneers will not have the easiest path to the playoffs, as their schedule features eight teams that made the playoffs in 2020, including the Class A state champion Cashion Wildcats.
