An active student-athlete at Ponca City High School, Carson Lively splits his time between athletics, academics, and FFA.
He was a sophomore when he first joined FFA, and now a senior, Lively encourages underclassmen to join FFA if they are looking for a program that has something for everyone.
“Enroll your freshman year so you get four years of some of the best years of high school,” Lively said. “I joined my sophomore year. I am serving as the 2022-2023 FFA Sentinel. I am on the Trap-shoot team.”
Despite not showing animals Lively said there are plenty of activities to join and you still get the interaction with the livestock at events.
“Responsibility of feeding the animals and daily chores, spending time in the classroom with my friends, fun memories of the cold and very windy trap-shoot competitions and learning from the best Ag teacher are just some of what I love about FFA,” Lively said. “My parents and Mr. Frazier have pushed me to be the best version of myself. They always encourage me to do my best.”
A member of the varsity football team and the fishing team at PoHi, Lively is making plans for life after high school.
“I am a senior this year at Ponca City High School and will graduate in May. After graduation, I plan to get my journeyman license and become an electrician,” said Lively.
Lively said the friendships and memories he has made with his classmates through the years is what he will remember most.
