Despite suffering an injury early in the season, Adisyn Ivers has been there to cheer on her teammates as she waits for her medical release and the opportunity to get back on the field.

“Well, this season I have been out for an injury. I broke my thumb I get released September 5th,” said Ivers.

Ivers toughness is never in question. A state placer in wrestling, Ivers said she enjoys both sports and loves her teammates.

“Softball has always been the sport I’ve always wanted to play going up and it still is. I am in wrestling which I placed at state for the first year for the girls wrestling here at Ponca High School,” said Ivers. “What I have enjoyed about being on the softball team is the experience and just being able to make friendships for a lifetime. What I love about this group is the fight we have and how we keep trying. I’m just all around proud of the team.”

Ivers mentioned a few of her teammates who she feels are having great seasons.

“There are multiple girls you should keep an eye on, Caitlin Cooper, Audrey Varner, and Kadence Elliott, and someone who has been working really hard on JV would have to be Taylor Ralf. She is working really hard and has improved a lot,” said Ivers.

Now a junior, Ivers said there are many reasons she enjoys being a student-athlete at PoHi.

“PoHi is a great place to be a student-athlete because teachers work with you around your schedule. My favorite subject, well I don’t know if this counts, but psychology and my favorite teacher was my seventh-grade English teacher Mr.Zornes,” said Ivers.

One day Ivers would like to study psychology in college, but before she leaves the friendly grounds of PCHS, Ivers said she wants her class to be remembered for many things. “I want our class to be remembered as the class who did a lot, like being athletic, being nice, and caring for others,” said Ivers.
