Bruno Nhavene, a men’s tennis player, was chosen as the Cowley Community College Spotlight of the Month for November. Nhavene has been a force for both the Tigers’ single and doubles teams.
He recently advanced to the semifinals in singles and won the doubles championship with partner Boruch Skierkier at the ITA Central Region Tournament.
Nhavane has been regarded as one of the top players in the nations.
He is planning to major in sports management and sports administration.
Nhavene said he feels like Cowley is pretty much his second family.
“I chose to come to Cowley simply because while talking to the head coach he mentioned things I was looking for in a two-year program tennis-wise and academically. Then on my own, with further research, I talked to friends that attended Cowley and they told me I was not going to regret it.”
“My experience has been amazing. I now have a family in Cowley it is a small campus, and that made it easier to socialize and get to know people quicker than I thought.”
