Laci Beougher, a sophomore volleyball player, was the Cowley Community College Spotlight Athlete for November. Beougher was a first team all-league and all-district for the Tigers this season, who made the NJCAA Tournament. Beougher was also a first team all-league and all-district player last season, too.
Beougher led Cowley, who was the third ranked team in the nation with a 38-3 record, in kills and kills per set. For her career, she finished fourth all time in kills (932).
Beougher is undecided on where she’s going after Cowley. At Cowley, Beougher held a grade point average of 3.51 and next year she plans to major in Nutrition.
Originally from Towanda, Kansas, Beougher was a first team all-league player for Circle.
Beougher said the family atmosphere at Cowley was what made the school and program so appealing.
“I chose Cowley because of how the community loves and supports the students. It brings a family atmosphere to the campus that is so unique to Cowley. I have really enjoyed my time with my teammates. These women have become my best friends and I am so grateful for this opportunity to play to play by their sides.”
