Stillwater’s Zac Tyson – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

Senior Zac Tyson is a starting linebacker for the Stillwater Pioneers football team and the “talk of the tailgate,” this season.

Tyson first stepped onto the football field in the first grade and his passion for the game comes through when you see him play. Head coach Tucker Barnard said of Tyson, “Zac is a great competitor. He started last season on the defensive line but has made the move to inside linebacker this season. His energy is infectious. He will create a lot of problems for our opponents.”

Tyson said he loves his team, and he loves playing with this group of guys.

“What I love most about my team is the brotherhood that we have,” Tyson said. “Friday nights are special to me because I get to play the game I love.”

His favorite moment came when he scored the first overtime touchdown against Deer Creek. A play that the Pioneer faithful still talks about today.

Tyson also said he loves the community of Stillwater and how they embrace the game he loves.

“Stillwater is a great place to go to school because of the caring community and the awesome academic and athletic programs they provide,” said Tyson.

After graduation Tyson hopes to continue his football career at the collegiate level. He said what he will miss the most are his teammates.

“What I’ll miss the most about Friday nights is playing with my best friends,” said Tyson.

Tyson hopes to one day pursue a career in real estate investing.
