Agra’s Titus Rodgers – Presented by Hideaway Pizza

The support that high school athletes receive from their community can go a long way to boost their confidence.

Titus Rodgers is a multisport athlete at Agra High School and he says that he is proud to represent his school and community whenever he competes.

“Agra has just a few hundred people and not much to do, so high school sports are a big thing for our community,” Rodgers said. “I think every game day we have half the town at our games cheering or checking in to see how we did. Knowing that so many people care pushes me to work hard and not let them down.”

Rodgers is a senior that plays baseball and basketball for the Bearcats. Away from sports, he serves as the president of the Future Farmers of America program.

During his career, Rodgers has worked hard to continually grow and improve his game. Though he knows it will get tough at times, that is how you get stronger.

“One of my former coaches always said, ‘Everything you want is on the other side of hard,’” Rodgers said. “It’s not easy to work hard for something if you don’t really love it. I’ve always loved baseball since I was a little kid. My love for the sport has driven me to work hard and dedicate myself throughout the years.”

There have also been a number of people that have helped Rodgers become the person that he is today and he says that he is truly thankful for them.

“My biggest role models would have to be my parents,” he said. “Most of becoming the person you are is from how your parents raised you and the things they taught you when you were young. From teaching me to work hard and never give up, and most of all love God. I can genuinely say my parents did a dang good job.

“Another person would be my principal and English teacher, Mr. May. He’s been my teacher since the sixth grade and has always been there for my family, and supported me throughout the years.”
