Morrison’s Briggs Roe – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by The Hideaway

By: Hunter Ferguson

Morrison baseball player Briggs Roe spoke to VYPE recently and shared that the thing he most enjoys about the team is “Being around the guys and being able to compete with them”. Among the members of his team someone who significantly impacted him was “My brother Brody. I was an underclassman when he was an upperclassman and he was a great role model not just to me, but our whole team. I strive to be a great example for the underclassmen just like he was to me. He also had a great work ethic that set a good example for me and others”.

Together the Roe brothers and their team made it to back-to-back state basketball tournaments – a favorite memory of his. Since then Roe has been putting in a lot of work saying “After making the state tournament multiple times in baseball and basketball, that’s what I expect every year. Going into my senior season I hope to make the best run yet”.

Roe shared with VYPE that some of the best advice he has received along the way is that “Nobody cares, work harder”. Which motivates him as he participates in high school basketball and baseball as well as travel baseball. Explaining that “This gives me the opportunity to compete at a high level”.

Following his high school graduation Roe has committed to playing college baseball for Kansas State University. And although he has put in all the work that has led to this achievement Roe told us about those that have motivated him along the way. Expressing that his father has “set a great example for me ever since I was a young kid. He gives good advice and always tries to set me up to succeed”.

Also taking a moment to say “Thank you to my parents and my brother Brody for always being by my side”.
