Morrison’s Kelli Veit – Player Spotlight – Presented By Stillwater Medical of Morrison

From her first time stepping onto the field with the Morrison Wildcats at the age of four to now being a varsity softball player for Morrison High School, Kelli Veit has loved every minute of her time playing ball with her friends.

“What I love most about my teammates is that everyone puts the team above themselves. And I love my team for their ability to overcome adversity. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs early in the season and we’ve tried our best to overcome all of them,” said Veit.

Expectations are high this season for Morrison, and they are off to a fast start winning their first seven games of the season. For Veit, meeting those expectations is a top priority this season.

“My expectations for this season are taking it one game at a time, playing to the best of our abilities, and making another state tournament appearance and hopefully adding another ring to our collection,” said Veit.

As a utility player, Veit can play left field, right field and first base. But softball isn’t the only sport Veit plays at Morrison.

“I play slow pitch softball, basketball, and do volunteer stats for our Morrison football team,” said Veit.

As a student-athlete at Morrison, Veit and her teammates take pride in representing their team and the community of Morrison. It also helps when you enjoy playing with your teammates and have great relationships with your coaches.
“What makes being a student-athlete at Morrison so fun is playing with great girls and coaches, as well as having the support from my teammates, coaches, fans, and family,” said Morrison.

Once she has graduated from Morrison, Veit plans to attend college and Oklahoma State University and eventually work in the medical field. Away from school, Veit said she enjoys spending time with family, taking random trips to Stillwater with friends and going on ice cream dates.
