Perkins-Tryon’s Krislyn Fields – Presented by Perkins Primary Care

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport? 

Krislyn: I started playing basketball in fifth grade and one of my teachers encouraged me to go try out for the team. 

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing? 

Krislyn: My favorite memory while playing basketball was probably when one of my teammates rubbed the opposing team’s spirit stick on her armpit for good luck. 

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you? 

Krislyn: The best advice anyone has given me was to play with confidence because it is a key reflection of your athletic performance. 

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life? 

Krislyn: Basketball has taught me how to work through daily struggles and to keep working through my mistakes. 

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team? 

Krislyn: My favorite part about being on a team is the relationships I gain through my sport. 

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport? 

Krislyn: I’m passionate about my sport because it has taught me a lot and when I’m playing it takes my mind off of other things. 

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why? 

Krislyn: A professional athlete I look up to is Paige Bueckers because she has accomplished a lot and is an amazing player. 

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why? 

Krislyn: My favorite teacher is Kim Galt because she gives good advice. 

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish. 

Krislyn: I would say thank you to my stepdad. He’s helped me with so many different things and encourages me to do better.
