Stillwater’s Bonnie Dudgeon: Mom of the Month – Presented by Stillwater Family Care

By Scott Metz

Stillwater High Scholl student athlete mom, Bonnie Dudgeon, is passionate about Stillwater High School Pioneer Athletics.

Bonnie proclaimed, “When it comes to representing the community of Stillwater and its athletic teams, it means a great deal to me. My husband, my daughter Elle (currently a sophomore at Oklahoma State University), my son, Ethan (currently a junior at Stillwater High School) and I are all Pioneer Athletes. My husband, Brian, played golf and basketball. My daughter, Elle, was a cheerleader. My son, plays both football and golf for the Pioneers. I played basketball.”

Asked how many games she has attended, Bonnie attested, “I have attended literally hundreds of games. I love going to games – I never want to miss a moment! Be it peewee soccer or varsity -it is all special and exciting to watch them compete.”

Many memories are made in high school athletics. One particular memory stood out to Bonnie, “My favorite memory was seeing my son playing in state championship game. He said he had the most fun playing in that game than he ever has before during his career.”

Bonnie’s favorite part of being involved with Stillwater High School Athletics is volunteering.  Bonnie stated, “It gives me the opportunity to be a part of something my son and daughter have dedicated themselves to as well as the ability to serve others.”

“I have been the Touchdown Club President for three years now, as well as being a booster for the 7th Grade, 8th Grade ,9th Grade, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams. It has given me an opportunity to get to know the kids, parents, and coaches as well as to provide for the teams throughout season. The season is packed full of opportunities to get involved and show your support for the program, athletes, coaches and make a difference. Hands down it is the best role -I love it! The moments are priceless!”

“Another thing I have enjoyed and cherished are the friendships I have made with the other parents; many will last a lifetime.”
